FINAL NOTES

It is with almost sadness that I have come to that part of building this site and know that the major work is complete. I hope that I have accomplished what I set out to do but I am afraid I won't see that clearly for a while yet.

I am sure that my husband will be delighted to know that he really does have a wife and that once in a while he can also use our computer. I am grateful for his forbearance with my nose constantly being in some book or pounding these keys.

If I have learned anything at all about this process I have learned that language is far from a perfect way to convey ideas to others. I suppose since humans are far from perfect I cannot expect the prose I write to be either.

However, I seem to be skirting the reason for this closing note page. There are many people that have helped this becoming process as I went along. There are a few friends that have also put up with my asking questions about where to get certain information. I was there when this was made but I was also six years old. So---------

To John Fricke who has been a charming source of information when I got stuck looking for some elusive piece of information. He didn't always know from the top of his head what I wanted but he sure knew where to look to see if I could find it. Thank you John. I owe you big time. Thank you also for the use of your wonderful book about Judy. Judy Garland, the World's Greatest Entertainer. Many Photographs in this site were obtained from the book The Official 50th Anniversary Pictorial, The Wizard of Oz © 1989 Turner Entertainment Company.

To Steve Cox who was kind enough to allow me to pick and choose photos to use from his The Munchkins of Oz. The book is so informative and rich with Munchkin history that having been just a child when Oz was filmed the process of being a kid makes for more continuity of my own memories. Thank you Steve I am grateful for your help.

To Elaine Willingham who was a resource for me too and relayed messages often from Steve to help me. I appreciate your notes and conversations. You too added to my own sense of continuity. Thanks so much Elaine.

To William Stillman and Jay Scarfone: What can I say that has not already been said. How very special you both are to me. Bill you and I talked on the phone the other night and you were wishing me the best and letting me again know that just because I did not play a big part in the Oz production I was no less important. We also talked about this site being for the people who visit it. With all my heart I want to thank you again. What a wonderful way to spend the rest of my life than to bring to people more yet about who these folks are that keep the memories of the Wizard of Oz alive and well. You made that possible. You gave me my appreciation for my small part in this movie of joy and happiness. Thank you for the physical pictures and ideas you gave me that worked so well. Thank You! Many of the wonderful Photographs in this site were obtained from the book The Official 50th Anniversary Pictorial, The Wizard of Oz © 1989 Turner Entertainment Company.

My last acknowledgment: The Margaret Herrick Library. This is housed in the Building called The Center for Motion Picture Study, in California. The personnel who are employed there are wonderful. They are polite, thorough in their searches for information, and provide a timely service. This Library supplied much of the statistical information on the main characters. I am truly impressed and grateful for their help.

The information on this site is what I now have to work with to add more entertainment and new interests to this base. Leave me your feedback and I will do all I can to supply whatever you feel would make this site more enjoyable.
