RYAN GRAY'S WIZARD OF OZ
ARTWORK HOMEPAGE

This picture is a pencil drawing I did of all four
on the yellow brick road at the Emerald City.
I entered it in my local art show.

Dorothy in the bed
surrounded by Aunt Em, Uncle Henry,
and the farmhands (also in pencil). I plan
on entering it in the art show this fall.

When I was in Myrtle Beach, Karl Slover
was at Autographs Plus on Broadway at the
beach signing autographs.
I can't believe I saw an actual munchkin.

Me as the Tinman

Well, I did it. My dream came true...I finally got to help bring OZ to life. All week long, ever since Monday, me and my friends rehearsed and practiced...and finally, it was showtime.

I arrived at the theatre at 11:00 this morning. We had dress rehearsal, then we had an hour to put on our makeup. After we were done with that, we went backstage and waited for the show to begin. It was very unusual because whenever I have to go before a live audience, I become VERY nervous and shaky, but this time, I felt very calm and I was not nervous at all. I marched out on that stage and did my thing. The lights were so bright, I couldn't see the people in front of me. My costume was VERY hot...and the bright lights made it even worse. I thought I was going to faint just from being so hot, but luckily I didn't. My hat and headpiece had velcro on them and it kept scratching against my skin and making me itch. I tried my best not to scratch my face because I would mess up my makeup. The play just seemed to fly by, and in the end, all of us were sad that it was over. This past week will be one I will always remember...I will never forget my directors because they are two of the most amazing people I have ever met.

When I got home, it took me an hour to wash the makeup off my face. There is still a little left in my eyebrows, but it will come out sooner or later. I just wanted to tell you all about my show, and if I manage to get any pictures of it, I will send them to you via email. I have attached a picture of me in my makeup before I washed it off. (I look sort of scary, don't I? LOL.) (July 2005)
